West Ham Snub Emery Approach

West Ham have allegedly rejected the chance to appoint Sevilla manager Unai Emery as Sam Allardyce’s successor, reports HITC.

Current manager Sam Allardyce looks all but certain to leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires, following a run of only 3 wins in 20 league games.

The Hammers have drawn up a shortlist of several potential replacements for the 60-year-old including former Everton & Manchester United boss David Moyes, Champions League winning Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez and former player & current Besiktas manager Slaven Bilic.

However, it seems that successful Sevilla manager Unai Emery has thrown his hat into the ring to be the clubs next manager, and help take them to the next level.

Emery has been a successful manager wherever he’s been, but is most known for his success’ at Valencia, and with Sevilla, where he won his only managerial honour to date, the 2013/14 Europa League.

It’s reported that the 43-year-olds representatives approached West Ham officials to gage their interest in possibly hiring Emery, but they were turned down to the manager’s lack of Premier League experience.

With a win percentage of 49% at Sevilla, Emery has the skins on the wall which suggests he can take the club forward, but it looks like they’ll go in the direction of either David Moyes or Rafa Benitez.
