West Ham United have received encouraging news over Dinos Mavropanos after the defender required treatment while playing for Greece against Serbia.
Play was stopped in the 67th minute after Mavropanos went down and received treatment, but he was able to continue for more than 20 minutes before being replaced in stoppage time.
The match commentary recorded the stoppage for treatment, while Mavropanos was officially substituted in the 91st minute.
There were initial concerns that West Ham could be facing another injury issue during the international break.
However, Hammers News reports that West Ham do not believe Mavropanos has suffered a significant injury.
Their report says the issue is thought to have been no more than an impact knock, with no serious problem communicated back to the club.
There has also been no official announcement from Greece suggesting Mavropanos will leave the squad.
That is encouraging for Nuno Espírito Santo ahead of West Ham’s Championship return against Queens Park Rangers.
Mavropanos is currently due to remain with Greece for their next Nations League fixture against Germany on Sunday 27 September.
West Ham’s official international schedule also has Greece facing the Netherlands and Germany again before the defender returns to club duty.
His availability against Germany should provide another indication that the knock has caused no lasting problem.
