Adama Boiro’s recent West Ham absence has reportedly been explained by a minor injury.
The left-back made his Hammers debut from the bench in the Championship victory over Derby County on 5 September but has not featured since.
Boiro has subsequently been left out of Nuno Espírito Santo’s squad for West Ham’s recent league matches.
Boiro dealing with minor injury
Fresh reporting from Sport Witness, citing Spanish outlet Deia, says Boiro has been struggling with a minor fitness problem.
That provides important context to his absence and suggests Nuno has not simply dropped the 24-year-old from his plans.
Boiro joined West Ham on a season-long loan from Athletic Club on Deadline Day, with the Hammers holding an option to make the transfer permanent.
We covered the full details when West Ham completed Boiro’s Deadline Day move.
Scarles keeps West Ham place
Boiro’s absence has allowed Ollie Scarles to continue building momentum at left-back.
The academy graduate has impressed during the opening weeks of the Championship campaign and responded strongly to the increased competition.
Boiro now has the international break to recover before West Ham return against QPR on 9 October.
His status should also be added to our West Ham injury tracker alongside the latest updates on Joël Veltman, Alphonse Areola and Tomáš Souček.
