Sunderland drop huge Wilson Isidor transfer decision as West Ham’s £14m chase takes unexpected turn

Wilson Isidor playing for Sunderland, transfer target linked with West Ham

West Ham are firmly involved in the battle for Wilson Isidor as fresh reports suggest Sunderland could be prepared to cash in on the striker this summer.

Nuno Espírito Santo wants further attacking reinforcements before the transfer window closes, despite Taty Castellanos scoring twice in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Portsmouth.

Isidor has emerged as one of the options being considered, but West Ham face competition from Ipswich Town and Hull City.

According to fresh reporting from Football Lowdown, Ipswich are understood to have put around £14million on the table.

West Ham could go higher.

Wilson Isidor West Ham transfer battle intensifies

Sunderland have rejected approaches so far, but there are conflicting reports over their long-term position.

Alan Nixon claims the Black Cats are prepared to sell Isidor as they look to raise money for further transfer business.

Hammers News, citing Nixon’s latest update, reports that Sunderland have previously valued the 25-year-old at around £20m and that West Ham are willing to reach that figure.

Ipswich are said to be preparing an offer worth approximately £14m, while Hull have also entered the race.

West Ham’s financial position could therefore give them an advantage.

Their bigger problem is convincing Isidor.

The Haiti international is reportedly in no rush to leave Sunderland and West Ham would be asking him to swap top-flight football for a Championship promotion challenge.

Nuno nevertheless needs greater competition through the middle.

West Ham have also been linked with AZ Alkmaar striker Troy Parrott. ReadWestHam reported on Saturday that former Hammer Tony Cottee believes Parrott could form an ideal partnership with Castellanos.

Isidor offers another route.

He initially joined Sunderland from Zenit St Petersburg in 2024 before completing a permanent move in February 2025.

Competition for his signature now appears to be increasing, and West Ham may have the financial strength to move ahead of their rivals.

Whether that is enough to convince Isidor himself could decide the deal.
