Nuno Espírito Santo has reflected on a very positive week for West Ham United, even if there is a sense of disappointment about the points dropped against QPR.
Consecutive victories against Lincoln City and Swansea City have evidenced the excellent response to that draw, which also reflects the high standards within the West Ham camp.
Promotion back to the Premier League is the objective and only consistent form will deliver it.
After Saturday’s win in South Wales, it’s back-to-back win for the Hammers and confidence is on the up.
West Ham are now just one point behind league leaders Swansea after 11 games played.
What did Nuno say after the Swansea win
“It was a good week for us, said Nuno Espírito Santo.
“It didn’t start so well [1-1 with QPR], but it finished well.
“A lot of hard work from the boys to meet it. Today was very good, it was a very, very good performance.
“There are always things to look at, but overall it was a very good performance. We were organised, intense, recovered the balls well defensively.
“We did a good job offensively, but I think we can improve. We had a lot of chances to kill the game, but [the win] was very, very important for us.
“The fans are happy, so it’s a good day.”
We knew it was going to be tough – Nuno on Swansea
“After recovering the ball with a good press, it was a good combination and criteria to decide the final pass.
“We had chances in similar situations in the second half, with multiple situations that we did well, but just credit to the goalkeeper, he made incredible saves also.
“But look, the commitment, the team spirit in the end to hold on to the result is really positive for us.
“Swansea is a very good team, they have a good dynamic. They are fast, they have speed, so it’s not easy to try and block all the situations, but the boys did well.”
