£75m West Ham project earns major recognition

Josh Landers in action for West Ham United as loan interest grows

West Ham United and the West Ham United Foundation have received three award nominations recognising the club’s community work across east London.

The West Ham award nominations include recognition for The Foundry community hub and the club’s increasingly popular Track Nights initiative.

The Foundry has been shortlisted for the Best Sports Community Scheme Social Impact Award at the Sports Business Awards.

The community hub opened in Beckton in October 2025 following a multi-million-pound redevelopment and has significantly expanded the Foundation’s work in the local area.

West Ham officially confirmed that The Foundry is expected to reach more than 60,000 people each year through more than 35 programmes covering education, employment, health and social inclusion.

West Ham award nominations recognise community impact

The club says The Foundry could generate £75million in social value across its first five years while supporting as many as 4,000 participants every week.

West Ham have also earned two nominations for Track Nights, their free running programme for supporters and local residents.

The initiative has been shortlisted for Best Fan Engagement Programme at the Sports Business Awards and Best Sports and Leisure Programme at the Corporate Engagement Awards.

All five Track Nights held so far have sold out, with West Ham fitness coaches involved in the sessions and Tomáš Souček previously attending to discuss his own training routines.

The latest recognition also follows continued investment in the Foundation. ReadWestHam reported last month that the club’s new Athletes Elevated partnership would provide additional support to both the Academy and West Ham United Foundation.

The Corporate Engagement Awards take place on 7 October, while the Sports Business Awards will be held at Old Billingsgate on 27 November.

For West Ham, the three nominations provide recognition for work extending well beyond what happens at the London Stadium on matchdays.
