West Ham officially confirm Amanda Staveley 25.1% stake deal

West Ham United have officially confirmed the provisional Amanda Staveley West Ham agreement for Vanessa Gold’s 25.1 per cent shareholding.

Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi’s PCP Capital Partners consortium has reached terms with Gold alongside Ashland Forest Capital Partners.

The club released a statement on Saturday evening after Vanessa Gold announced the agreement. However, the transaction cannot yet be completed because West Ham’s existing shareholders have pre-emption rights.

Those shareholders will first have the opportunity to purchase their proportional allocation of the available shares. Any shares remaining after that stage will then be offered again during a second round.

Amanda Staveley West Ham agreement enters pre-emption process

West Ham expect the process to take around two months. Until it concludes, the club have stressed that there will be no change to the current ownership structure or the day-to-day running of the football operation.

ReadWestHam reported earlier on Saturday that Staveley had agreed a deal to purchase Vanessa Gold’s 25.1 per cent stake. The club’s statement now provides official confirmation that a provisional agreement is in place.

The official West Ham statement also confirms that PCP Capital Partners are working alongside Ashland Forest Capital Partners on the proposed acquisition.

Staveley therefore remains some distance from formally becoming a West Ham shareholder. Existing investors still have the right to match the deal before her consortium can complete the purchase.

For now, the Amanda Staveley West Ham agreement represents a major development in the club’s ownership situation, but supporters may have to wait until October before the final outcome becomes clear.
