West Ham are not holding talks over a new contract with Konstantinos Mavropanos, despite previous reports that an extension had been offered.
West Ham Zone reports that conflicting information has emerged over the Greece international’s position.
Journalist Konstantinos Lianos says Mavropanos is not discussing a new agreement with West Ham. His existing contract runs until summer 2028.
“There are currently no contract talks between West Ham and Mavropanos,” Lianos wrote.
The 28-year-old continues to attract interest, although no club has made enough progress to suggest a departure is imminent. Lianos added that the situation could still change before the transfer window closes.

West Ham want to retain Mavropanos as Nuno Espírito Santo prepares for a Championship promotion campaign.
The Hammers have limited senior depth at centre-back, while Jean-Clair Todibo continues to be linked with an exit. Selling Mavropanos would leave Nuno requiring several defensive additions before the new season.
His importance became clear during the previous campaign when supporters voted him Hammer of the Year. West Ham’s official announcement praised his defensive performances and important goals during a difficult relegation season.
Mavropanos has also featured during pre-season. He scored West Ham’s equaliser against Southend United with a powerful header shortly before half-time.
Arsenal and several Bundesliga clubs have previously shown interest in the former Stuttgart defender. However, West Ham have not received a concrete offer and do not currently expect him to leave.
The Konstantinos Mavropanos West Ham future therefore remains unchanged despite the contract clarification. No extension is being discussed, but Nuno can still plan with the defender unless a significant offer changes the club’s position.
