Taty Castellanos has reportedly told West Ham that he wants to leave the club this summer.
Castellanos only joined West Ham from Lazio in January and remains under contract until 2030. The club are therefore in a strong negotiating position and have no obligation to approve a discounted departure.
However, losing the Argentine would leave Nuno needing another significant attacking addition shortly before the Championship season begins.

According to Sport Witness, relaying Spanish outlet Vamos Mi Sevilla FC, Castellanos has “officially informed” West Ham that he wants to leave.
Real Betis and Sevilla are both interested, with Castellanos reportedly prioritising a move back to Spain. West Ham invested around €30million in the striker and are believed to want at least €25million from a permanent sale.
A loan is also being discussed because Sevilla may struggle to finance a permanent deal. Sport Witness cautions that this proposal could reflect the Spanish club’s preference rather than West Ham’s position.
The timing creates a serious problem. Castellanos is currently Nuno’s leading recognised striker, while Pablo has yet to establish himself as a dependable alternative.
ReadWestHam’s analysis following the Rangers draw already identified another forward as one of four immediate transfer priorities. Castellanos leaving would turn an existing weakness into a significant squad emergency.
West Ham can reject a loan and demand an acceptable permanent fee. However, retaining an unsettled player would bring its own risks during a promotion campaign.
The Taty Castellanos West Ham exit remains a reported request rather than an advanced transfer. The club must now establish whether the striker genuinely wants out before deciding how firmly to resist interest from Spain.
