Habib Diallo to West Ham has emerged as a potential move as Nuno Espírito Santo searches for another striker.
The Hammers are among several European clubs monitoring the Metz forward, who could become available for a reduced fee following the French club’s relegation.
Diallo returned to Metz last summer and remains under contract for another two years. However, the 31-year-old reportedly wants to continue playing at a higher level rather than dropping into Ligue 2.
West Ham have been informed of his availability but have not submitted an offer or opened advanced negotiations.

According to Football Insider, Diallo’s experience and goalscoring record have impressed West Ham’s recruitment team.
The Senegal international has scored more than 100 goals across France’s top two divisions. He also registered 20 goal contributions in 61 appearances during spells with Al-Shabab and Damac in Saudi Arabia.
Nuno requires greater security at centre-forward before West Ham begin their Championship promotion campaign. Taty Castellanos has been linked with a return to Spain, while Pablo has not yet established himself as a dependable senior option.
ReadWestHam’s recent squad analysis identified striker as one of four positions requiring immediate attention. West Ham struggled to create clear chances during Sunday’s goalless draw against Rangers, leaving Castellanos isolated for long periods.
Haji Wright, Pape Moussa Fall and Eliezer Mayenda are also reportedly being considered. Diallo may represent the most affordable experienced option if Metz accept a cut-price departure.
