West Ham United are refusing to lower their Aaron Wan-Bissaka valuation after Lazio reportedly made a move for the defender.
The Serie A club have identified Wan-Bissaka as a target after his impressive performances for DR Congo at the World Cup.
However, Lazio’s valuation remains considerably below the figure required to persuade West Ham to sell. The Hammers are understood to want around £25m for the 28-year-old.
According to a report carried by Yahoo Sports, Lazio have tested West Ham with an offer worth approximately €10m. The proposal was rejected quickly by the Championship club.
Everton previously considered a move but are no longer pursuing the former Manchester United defender. Arsenal have also monitored his position while assessing potential defensive additions.
West Ham have no reason to accept reduced fee
Wan-Bissaka remains under contract until 2031, leaving West Ham in a strong negotiating position despite their relegation from the Premier League.
The Hammers signed him from Manchester United for around £15m in 2024. Accepting Lazio’s reported offer would provide little financial benefit, particularly after his reputation increased at the World Cup.
ReadWestHam previously reported that West Ham had placed a £25m price on Wan-Bissaka as part of Nuno Espírito Santo’s summer squad rebuild.
Kyle Walker-Peters can operate at right-back, so West Ham may consider a sale if their valuation is met. However, Wan-Bissaka’s defensive ability and Championship experience would also make him valuable during a promotion campaign.
Lazio must now decide whether to improve their proposal or move to another target. West Ham can afford to wait, particularly while other clubs continue assessing the defender.
A departure remains possible before the window closes, but the opening figures fall well short of what the Hammers should accept.
