West Ham United want to sign Axel Disasi permanently this summer. The problem being, the only chance of their being a deal, heavily relies on the Hammers staying in the Premier League this season, with the on-loan Chelsea defender’s performance’s attracting a lot of interest.

The 28-year-old joined the club still in Chelsea’s ‘bomb-squad’ put there by former Blues boss, Enzo Maresca. Last season, Disasi had spent the second-half of the campaign with Aston Villa, but failed to break the first-team, making minimal appearances and returning to his exile in London.

This season, things have been different for the Frenchman. Since joining Nuno Espirito Santo’s team, Disasi has been a revelation. Partnering the reborn Konstantinos Mavropanos, the defender has been a huge part of what has made this West Ham team come alive.

Understandably, the Hammers want to keep Disasi, but even his performances might not be enough to keep the team up, leaving his permanent move to be just a pipe dream.

According to Football Insider, Disasi does indeed want to stay at West Ham, but it all hinges on them staying in the Premier League this season.

Chelsea will sell the defender this summer, and is not short of takers after his impressive form for the Hammers. As reported earlier in the month, both Fulham and Disasi’s former club, Aston Villa are both in the race to secure the 28-year-old.

Now, Leeds United, who secured their Premier League survival with West Ham’s loss to Arsenal, are now interested in the player. The Lilywhites have had a superb first year back in the top flight and believe Disasi could be a key piece in the cog that keeps them where they believe they should be.
