  • West Ham play Everton on Saturday
  • A win could see the Hammers move five points clear of the Premier League bottom three
  • Jamie Carragher has predicted the game

West Ham United host Everton this weekend looking to make further steps forward in their survival fight. The Hammers know that a win could possibly send them five points above the bottom three, should other results go there way.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team are coming off the back of a 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace but remain in good form, especially at home. Everton are chasing Europe but have a number of injury woes, something West Ham want to take advantage of.

David Moyes, now back in charge of the Toffees will return to the London Stadium this weekend looking to get one over his former team. It’s this factor, that Liverpool legend and Sky Sports pundit, Jamie Carragher, believes gives Everton the better chance to win this game.

Jamie Carragher predicts West Ham vs Everton

Carragher believes that Moyes’ experience with West Ham is what gives them the advantage. That combined with the fact the former Hammers boss will want to get one over his old side.

“I just think David Moyes knows the club,” Carragher said. “He knows that stadium. He’ll know most of the players. He’ll go back there. David Moyes just gets results.

“He went to Brentford last week, got a little draw. I can just see them making it difficult, and David Moyes knows his way around the Premier League, as obviously Nuno does as well.

“I just think going back to West Ham, knowing the club, knowing the set-up, everything about it, I think he’ll be able to come away with a point.”

Whilst West Ham face Everton, Tottenham Hotspur head to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Wolves were officially relegated last week as the Hammers gained a point but Nuno’s team will be hoping they can do them a favour and in turn, apply more pressure on to the out of sorts Spurs.
