Pundit urges West Ham to secure ‘brilliant’ Keane Lewis-Potter deal

Former Premier League defender Alan Hutton has tipped West Ham to seal a ‘brilliant’ move for Hull City youngster Keane Lewis-Potter

The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with the Hammers in recent months and a summer swoop could be on the cards.

Already a regular star for the Championship strugglers. Lewis-Potter has been tipped to follow in the footsteps of Jarrod Bowen.

Speaking to Football Insider, Hutton suggested that the move would be a sensible one from the Irons.

It makes real sense. There’s minimal risk in these sorts of transfers. David Moyes has gotten the best out of these Championship talents in the past. He seems to put an arm around them and really improve their games – you just have to look at Jarrod Bowen for an example. I think with a move like this, you have time on your hands. Moyes can mould him into the style of player he wants. For Lewis-Potter personally, to step up into a team that are playing European football and challenging for that top four, I think that’s where every player wants to be. I think it would be a brilliant move for West Ham and the player.

This comes as journalist Ryan Taylor claimed that there is ‘money to spend’ at the club this summer.

So far this season Lewis-Potter has scored nine times and provided four assists in 37 appearances across all competitions.

Valued at £900,000 and under contract until 2023 (Transfermarkt), it’s unlikely any move for the talented youngster would cost less than £10million.

However, immensely versatile and with an abundance of talent, signing Lewis-Potter should be high on the list of priorities in East London this summer.

This is certainly one to watch when the window reopens as David Moyes looks to strengthen the attacking ranks.
