- West Ham will now play Arsenal on Sunday 10th May at 4:30PM
- The Hammers return to action in the FA Cup this Sunday against Leeds United at 4:30PM
West Ham United return to action this weekend after the final international break of the season. The Hammers face Leeds United this weekend in the FA Cup, hoping to book their place in the semi finals at Wembley.
After their cup showdown, Nuno Espirito Santo’s team return their priority this season, staying in the Premier League. Up first for West Ham is Wolverhampton Wanderers, before a Monday night trip to across London to Crystal Palace.
After a home fixture with Everton and an away trip to Brentford. The Hammers will face Arsenal in a game that, predicably, has now been moved to adhere to the TV cameras.
The Premier League match was scheduled to be played on Saturday 9th May. It will now take place on the following day at 4:30PM.
The Gunners are hunting down a Premier League title this season and currently have nine point lead of Manchester City, but the Cityzen’s have a game in hand on the table toppers. Sky Sports, who will show the game, believe it is a game in which the title could be won, something West Ham will be trying to stop.
West Ham’s pivotal month of April
The month of April could be pivotal to the Hammers survival this season. This month represents the best chance of Nuno’s team going on a run of form, and to minimise the risk of being cut off in May.
Arguably, West Ham have one of the best run-ins of the sides in the relegation fight. The majority of team’s the Hammers this month, have minimal goals to play for.
After the Leeds United clash in the FA Cup, the Irons host Wolves. Despite an upturn in form under Rob Edwards, Wolves are still 13 points adrift. Something West Ham have to take advantage of.
After Wolves, comes a trip to Crystal Palace. After once being in the survival fight, Palace now look safe and have little left to play for in the league. The UEFA Conference League is what they are thinking about. With eyes elsewhere it is another game that Nuno will believe his team can pick up points in.
Everton round out April being the hardest game of the month. The Toffees are well in with a shout of securing European football this season. Despite this, West Ham will know that it is a game that offers them points, regardless of Everton’s form.
