Virals: European giants ‘sure to be there’ should West Ham sell Declan Rice

Real Madrid are the latest club linked with a move for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.

The 23-year-old has been attracting plenty of domestic interest in recent months but there is now the first sure sign of admiration from further afield.

Previously touted by Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City, Rice is hot property owing to a host of stellar performances for club and country.

Speaking to wettfreunde, as cited by Madrid Xtra on Twitter, journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that Carlo Ancelotti would be keen on taking the Englishman to Spain.

Di Marzio said: “I know Carlo Ancelotti is a fan of Declan Rice. So he could be a good fit for Real. But I don’t know if Real will make an offer for him. If Rice is available, Ancelotti is sure to be there. But I have no idea what strategy the Royals are pursuing, which players are staying or going.”

This season Rice has scored four times and provided another four assists in 31 appearances across all competitions.

It was only a matter of time before European interest arose.

Already a leading performer at the very highest level, the 27-cap England man would be perfectly suited to nigh on every side in world football.

Whilst it would appear that a bidding war is brewing, David Moyes’ steadfast stance on the future of the £67.5million valued star is one the club will hopefully adopt.

Should the tme come, however, selling to Real Madrid as opposed to a domestic rival may sting slightly less, but moreover, whoever wins the battle must pay top money for West Ham’s prized asset.

matchday.
