Pundit waxes lyrical over ‘mind-blowing’ West Ham ace Jarrod Bowen

Former Premier League defender Micah Richards has been waxing lyrical over West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen

The 25-year-old handed the Hammers the lead early on against Leicester City before the home side struck back before half-time.

Central defender Craig Dawson scored late in the day for the Irons to earn an invaluable point in the race for the top four.

But it was Bowen who stole the headlines as the ex-Hull City forward beat the offside trap to get behind the entire defence before volleying home emphatically to put David Moyes’ side ahead.

Speaking on Sky Sports during the break, Richards was full of praise for the goal and the form of Bowen this season.

Look at his position, the timing of the run is impeccable. Whether he plays on the left or plays on the right, his form this season is mind-blowing. When he goes through he’s still got a lot to do, but it’s his composure.

Fellow pundit Jamie Carragher responded by likening the Englishman to former Liverpool star Robbie Fowler.

So far this season Bowen has 13 goals and 10 assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.

Outstanding once again.

Whilst the goal was only worth a point to the Hammers in the end, it shouldn’t take away from the quality of the finish.

Performances such as this are the reason why the £31.5million valued ace is one of the most talked-about players in the Premier League this season.

Surely an England call is just a matter of time?

matchday.
