Virals: West Ham remain keen on Espanyol striker Raul de Tomas

West Ham have been linked with a move for Espanyol striker Raul De Tomas as the January transfer deadline looms.

The Hammers were previously indexed to the 27-year-old in the summer and are believed to remain interested in the ace.

This comes as both David Moyes and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta go in search of a frontman in the final days of the mid-season window.

According to a report from Spanish publication AS, as cited by ARSENAL on Twitter, both the Irons and the Gunners are keen on De Tomas to fill the void.

The report also claims there is interest in the twice-capped Spain international from Leicester City and Leeds United.

This season the Madrid-born star has scored 12 times and provided two assists in 21 La Liga outings.

Valued at £13.5million and under contract in Spain until 2026 (Transfermarkt), signing De Tomas would be an expensive venture for the Hammers at the mooted £58million release clause.

However, as alternative options begin to dwindle and the deadline draws ever closer, the Spaniard could be among the few remaining viable targets.

Having amassed 124 carer goals, possessing a variety of impressive attributes that would suit Moyes’ style and perhaps more importantly, being in-form, De Tomas looks to be a perfectly reasonable candidate to support Michail Antonio.
