Virals: West Ham have Montpellier ace Stephy Mavididi in their ‘sights’

West Ham are reportedly interested in Montpellier forward Stephy Mavididi as the January transfer deadline day comes into view.

The Hammers are believed to be keen on the well-travelled 23-year-old as David Moyes looks to make late additions to the squad at the London Stadium.

Currently plying his trade in Ligue 1, Mavididi spent time at Southend United, Arsenal, Charlton Athletic, Preston North End and Juventus before landing in France.

According to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb, as cited by Sport Witness on Twitter, claims that the Irons could be prepared to bring the starlet back to England.

The report claims that the three-cap England Under 20 ace is ‘in the sights’ at West Ham.

This season Mavididi has scored eight times and provided three assists in 21 league appearances.

Valued at £8.1million and under contract in France until 2024 (Transfermarkt), signing the Derby-born forward would be an affordable venture for the Hammers.

Capable of playing across the entire frontline, Mavididi has operated as a centre-forward for the majority of a fledgeling career.

Noted for strong finishing ability (WhoScored), the versatile Englishman would appear to possess the raw attributes required to become a leading top-flight performer.

matchday.
