Virals: West Ham ‘interested’ in AFC Bournemouth starlet Lloyd Kelly

West Ham are reportedly ‘interested’ in AFC Bournemouth centre-back Lloyd Kelly.

The 23-year-old has previously been courted by Liverpool before making a £13million switch from Bristol City in 2019 (BBC).

Since arriving on the south coast, Kelly has scored twice and provided four assists in 70 appearances for the Cherries.

According to a report from The Telegraph, as cited by Matt Law on Twitter, the Hammers are keen on bringing the England Under 21 starlet to the London Stadium.

The report claims that David Moyes has ‘identified’ the 10-cap ace as the man to ease the central defensive injury concerns in East London.

So far this season the man once hailed as a ‘Rolls-Royce’ by Jonathan Woodgate has earned a 7.09 Sofascore rating from 19 Championship outings.

Valued at £9million and under contract at the Vitality Stadium until 2024 (Transfermarkt), signing the talented youngster could prove to be an expensive outlay for the Irons.

However, given the player’s age, versatility and already proven quality, striking in mid-season could be the ideal route as Bournemouth seemingly head back to the top-flight.

Capable of operating as a central defender as well at left-back – a problem position in recent weeks for Moyes – Kelly would be the ideal capture in the January transfer window.
