West Ham have reportedly held ‘online meetings’ with the representatives of FC Basel striker Arthur Cabral.

The 23-year-old has attracted plenty of attention with superb form this season in the Swiss Super League and could be set for a big-money transfer.

Irons’ boss David Moyes would appear to be leading the pursuit as the Scot attempts to add much-needed depth to the attacking department at the London Stadium.

That’s according to a report from Goal Brasil, as cited by West Ham Transfers on Twitter claiming that discussions have already taken place.

The report claims that the Hammers are willing to pay €15million (£12.6million) for the recent Brazil squad member.

So far this season Cabral has scored a remarkable 24 goals and added eight assists in 25 appearances across all competitions.

Valued at £13.5million and under contract in Switzerland until 2023 (Transfermarkt), paying £12.6million for the Brazilian would be an extraordinary piece of business.

Clearly a player operating at the very peak of his powers, Cabral would push Michail Antonio almost from the outset.

Whilst the Swiss top-flight may not be the best barometer, boasting a remarkable goalscoring record of 74 in 149 games as well as adding 49 assists, West Ham should be pushing hard for this deal.
