West Ham ‘in the front row’ for Aaron Ramsey transfer

West Ham are believed to be among the frontrunners for the signature of Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey this summer.

The 30-year-old currently with the Wales squad has previously been linked with the Hammers and could be set to leave Turin during this transfer window.

According to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport, as cited by Donato Daniel Grossi on Twitter, the Irons have already made their interest known.

The report states that both English sides are ‘in the front row’ and have ‘already moved to test the waters’ regarding the potential of making a deal for the 64-cap star happen.

It’s also claimed ‘Ramsey’s time in Turin has come to an end’, despite making 30 appearances across all competitions in 2020/21 – scoring twice and registering five assists.

Signing the Welshman would certainly add quality to the ranks at the London Stadium, albeit a deal packed with risks.

Ramsey missed nine games due to injuries last term, a problem that has ravaged the ace throughout his career.

Valued at £12.6million and under contract with the Old Lady until 2023 (Transfermarkt), any deal to sign the former Arsenal man would add much-needed strength to the midfield department in east London.

Despite the midfielder’s obvious ability and impressive career, at a likely astronomical wage for someone so injury prone, Moyes may prefer to spend the money elsewhere.
