Virals: West Ham loan ace Jesse Lingard wins EPL award

West Ham loan signing Jesse Lingard has been named EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month for the month of April.

The Manchester United loanee continued his superb form since arriving one at London with four goals and an assist in four league appearances as the Hammers continued their quest for a top-four finish.

Lingard’s award follows nominations in both February and March having hit the ground running at the London Stadium following his deadline day signing.

As cited by the club’s official Twitter account, the 28-year-old has been a constant threat to opposing defences and will be hoping to finish the campaign on a high.

In reaction to the achievement, Lingard told the club’s official website: “It’s amazing. It’s the first time in my career that I’ve received this award and I’d obviously like to thank the fans for voting, my teammates and staff for helping me get there.”

The attacking midfielder went on to proclaim he was in the ‘best form of his career’ and how finding regular game-time had contributed.

What an inspired signing this turned out to be.

Having barely featured at Old Trafford many might’ve questioned how long it could take to get Lingard up to speed for the Irons.

A brace on debut quickly allayed any fears and the England man has gone from strength to strength ever since under David Moyes.

With three games remaining in his West Ham career – perhaps for now at least – the Warrington-born ace needs to produce two more dazzling displays to ensure the Hammers get European football of some description.

matchday.
