West Ham central defender Winston Reid is close to agreeing on a move to Brentford according to Football League World.
The Championship side are in the market for a defender as they push for promotion to the top flight having missed out in last years play-offs.
The 32-year-old has been a loyal servant to the Hammers having made 223 appearances for the club in his 11 years in east London.
However, a serious knee injury saw the Kiwi centre-back fall down the pecking order at the London Stadium before a loan move to MLS side Sporting Kansas City last year.
Having returned from the USA in December, the experienced defender hasn’t featured for David Moyes’ side and could be on his way out once more.
The report doesn’t specify whether the deal would be on a permanent basis or a loan deal until the end of the season, with the former likely to suit the Irons.
READ WEST HAM VERDICT
Without wanting to preempt anything in this truncated and at times bizarre season, it seems highly unlikely Moyes would find himself in a situation whereby he is relying upon Reid.
There have been plenty of rumours surrounding Irons’ centre-halves in the last few days and it seems almost certain one of Issa Diop, Fabian Balbuena and Reid will leave before the deadline.
That trio are clearly seen as surplus to requirements by Moyes as Craig Dawson and Angelo Ogbonna forge a formidable partnership at the back.
