Rumoured West Ham target Pau Lopez has seen his valuation halved in the last 12 months, according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Spanish goalkeeper, for whom the Hammers had a reported loan move rejected this week, has experienced a tough time at AS Roma since his £21m transfer from Real Betis.
Following a loan spell at the Irons’ London rivals Tottenham, Lopez earned a lucrative switch to the Italian capital, although things haven’t transpired as he might have hoped and the 26-year-old recently lost his number one place at the Stadio Olimpico to 37-year-old Antonio Mirante.
Despite seeing less than the desired amount of match action – he has played just seven of Roma’s 17 matches in the league – Lopez is seemingly determined to stay with the Serie A club and fight for his place, a major factor in the Irons’ loan offer being rebuffed.
The fresh report from Gazzetta dello Sport claimed that Roma would struggle to fetch ‘€12-15m’ for the stopper, which falls in line with Transfermarkt‘s estimated market value of £9m.
David Moyes may revisit a potential deal for the twice-capped Spaniard, sparked by the dramatically reduced valuation.

The sudden frenzy of links to goalkeepers has come somewhat out of the ether, with no apparently urgent need to replace either Lukasz Fabianski or Darren Randolph.
That said, the time is fast approaching whereby a new number one at the London Stadium will need to be found; and having previously been deemed good enough for an elite club like Roma to shell out in excess of £20m, Lopez seems to have plenty of ability and could fit the bill for the Irons in the long run.
