Everton are in the race to sign West Ham United target Alexis Claude-Maurice, according to a report from Football London.
The promising winger was in impressive form for Lorient last season and emerged as one of the brightest talents in Ligue 2.
Claude-Maurice’s form in France’s second tier appears to have caught the eye of clubs in the Premier League, with the Hammers having apparently already submitted a bid worth £10 million.
The 21-year-old found the back of the net on 14 occasions for Lorient in league fixtures last season. He also contributed with a further four assists for his teammates.
Arsenal, too, have been touted as potential suitors for Claude-Maurice, whose future appears to be in a top European league ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
West Ham have several options on the flanks, but as they begin to prepare for Manuel Pellegrini’s second season in charge, it seems they will need to move fast if they are to fend off competition from Everton for the French winger.
