After plenty of speculation, Lorient’s Alexis Claude-Maurice finally has a price tag around his neck.
West Ham have reportedly made a £10 million move to sign the French Ligue 2 player who made a total of 36 appearances last season, scoring 14 goals and providing a further four assists, reports Sky Sports.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side have previously been linked with a move, but no price tag had been reported up until this point.
The French youth international can play across the forward line and is comfortable on either wing or in a more central striking role.
Lorient were expected to keep the forward, but after missing out on the funds of promotion to the top-tier in France, they understand every player has a price and West Ham have made an initial offer in a bid to get a deal done early.
Claude-Maurice has been scouted by Premier League sides for some time now with Arsenal also understood to be very interested in the player.
