West Ham to reignite Drinkwater interest
West Ham are reportedly set to reignite their interest in Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater.
According to the print edition of the Daily Mail, as cited on Sportslens, the Hammers could go back in for the former Leicester City man after failing in a summer move.
West Ham were heavily linked with a deal to sign Drinkwater during the summer transfer window but were unable to complete a deal.
Chelsea remain happy to sell the player, with Drinkwater not part of Maurizio Sarri’s plans at Stamford Bridge.
The England international has been shunned from Sarri’s Premier League squads, with the Italian head coach openly admitting that he told the player he was not part of his plans in the summer.
Chelsea have since struggled to move the player on, due to both his high wages and their desire to recoup a large chunk of the £35 million they spent on him.
