Leicester join West Ham in race for Drinkwater

Leicester City have joined West Ham in the race for Danny Drinkwater’s signature, the Independent reports.

Everton and West Ham have been heavily linked with Drinkwater in recent weeks, and with Chelsea now set to complete the loan signing of Real Madrid’s Mateo Kovacic, the Blues are open to letting the England international leave on loan.

Leicester City are now also thought to be considering the possibility of taking Danny Drinkwater back from Chelsea, having only left the club last summer.

Drinkwater moved to London for £35million on deadline day last summer, but the midfielder featured rarely in his debut season at Stamford Bridge.

The midfielder joined Leicester in 2011, making 193 league appearances for the club in his six seasons with the Foxes.

Drinkwater was one of the key players in Leicester City’s title winning side two seasons ago and is now being much sought-after by a host of Premier League sides.
