West Ham have reportedly identified Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez as a potential transfer target.

Sky Sports News reports that the Hammers are lining up potential replacements for the in-demand Marko Arnautovic.

The striker has been the subject of bids from the Chinese Super League and according to the player’s agent, he is keen to complete a lucrative move away from the London Stadium this month.

The news has left the Hammers scrambling for a potential replacement, with Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson also linked.

Gomez was a summer target for West Ham, with the striker impressing in La Liga.

However, West Ham were priced out of a deal, with Celta Vigo demanding big money for his services.

Unfortunately for the Hammers, Celta’s stance has not changed and the report claims that the Premier League side would be required to pay the player’s £45 million release clause to bring him to London in January.
