Manchester United retain a strong interest in signing Issa Diop from West Ham United, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
Jose Mourinho is known to be an admirer of the talented Frenchman, who completed a switch to the London Stadium from Ligue 1 side Toulouse in the summer transfer window.
Since his arrival, Diop has been a mainstay in Manuel Pellegrini’s starting line-up alongside fellow summer recruit Fabian Balbuena.
His consistently impressive displays at the back do not appear to have gone unnoticed, either. Manchester United were linked with Diop some weeks ago and their interest is reaffirmed by the Daily Mail ahead of the January transfer window.
Recent reports have indicated that the Red Devils are chasing a deal for Hammers attacker Marko Arnautovic.
However, according to fresh claims, United are more keen to pursue a move for Diop, with Mourinho’s men continuing to look unconvincing in defence this season.
The 21-year-old has started 11 times in the Premier League for Pellegrini’s side.
