Lazio eye free transfer to replace West Ham target Felipe Anderson

Lazio appear to be preparing for life without Felipe Anderson, who continues to be linked with a move to West Ham.

Calcio Mercato report that the Italian side are one of a host of teams looking to sign Gelson Martins from Sporting this summer.

The Portuguese winger, who is attracting a lot of interest from Arsenal and AC Milan, is free to leave Sporting after requesting to terminate his contract.

Martins, along with a number of Sporting players, will leave on a free transfer following a training ground attack by supporters.

The news could come as a boost for West Ham, with Martins potentially viewed as a direct replacement for Anderson, as West Ham step up in their interest in the Brazilian.

Reports in Italy claimed a €30 million deal was close, but talks are said to be rumbling on.

Signing Anderson this summer would certainly be considered as a coup for Manuel Pellegrini should he get this deal over the line.
