West Ham star edging ever closer to exit

The agent of West Ham forward Mauro Zarate has confirmed that he is in talks with Italian side Fiorentina regarding a transfer for his client, according to a report from Talksport.

Reports linking the 28-year-old with a move to Fiorentina have been rife over the past few days, with boss Paulo Sousa keen on a preliminary loan deal and now Zarate’s agent (and brother) Rolando, has confirmed that he is trying to put together some of deal between the two clubs.

He told Radio Bruno:

We are in negotiations to reach an agreement between with West Ham and I am in London to find a solution for this transfer. Mauro wants to leave London and really likes the idea of playing for Fiorentina.

The Argentinian has been a regular feature under Slaven Bilic this season, making 15 appearances and scoring three goals.

However, his brother Rolando believes that his sibling will be better suited to the style of play at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Fiorentina are a very competitive side who always attack and play good football. Mauro has the right characteristics to play for Fiorentina.

Zarate joined West Ham in 2014 from the club he started out with as an apprentice, Valez Sarsfield, putting pen to paper on a three-year deal.

Hammers fans will no doubt remember his debut, after he scored a 20 yard-volley in a 3-1 win at Crystal Palace.
