Serie A club want West Ham forward

Reports in Italy are suggesting Seria A side Fiorentina have joined the race to sign West Ham forward Mauro Zarate.

Malaga were linked with a move for the Argentinian in recent weeks and now Fiorentina are believed to be interested in taking him back to Italy.

The 28-year-old has not featured in West Ham’s previous two games with AFC Bournemouth and Newcastle United due to injury but boss Slaven Bilic revealed at a press conference on Thursday it was ‘just a kind of cramp’ and that he trained properly with his team-mates ahead of their trip to the North-east.

Whilst West Ham were announcing his squad for the Newcastle game, Zarate was busy tweeting a photo of him watching a laptop with a friend, adding fuel to the fire in terms of a potential January exit.

Zarate, prior to moving to East London and a loan spell with Birmingham, plied his trade at Italian giants Inter Milan and Lazio.

The attacking midfielder has made 15 appearances under Bilic this season, scoring three goals.
