West Ham have hit a stumbling block in their deal to sign Simone Zaza on loan from Juventus this summer.
The Hammers had agreed a £1.7m loan fee with Juventus to take the 24-year-old for the season, with an option to buy for £11.5m next summer should he impress.
West Ham were expecting an answer from Zaza himself today as to whether he would come to the club for the season.
However, according to Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio, Simone is now reassessing the situation, as Fernando Llorente looks set to leave Turin for a return to Spain with Sevilla.
The Europa League winners, who were considering a loan move for Andy Carroll, as said to be closing in on the signing of the Spanish international striker.
Simone, who only signed for Juventus earlier this summer in a €15m deal from Sassuolo, has been made the club’s fourth-choice striker, and was set to be omitted from their Champions League squad.
Now, with Llorente set to leave as well, Simone could be handed a first-team chance.
It seems it will come down to which deal will get over the line first, Llorente to Sevilla or Simone to West Ham.
