West Ham appear to have missed out on another defender target this summer, as Ezequiel Munoz agrees to join Genoa.
The free agent centre-back was released by Palermo this summer because the two parties couldn’t agree on a contract extension due to the player’s wage demands, according to former Palermo sporting director Giorgio Perinetti.
“I met Munoz’s agent three times and offered pay rises higher that our usual to test the waters, but nothing came of it and the player will leave Palermo at the end of the year,” Giorgio Perinetti told Tuttomercatoweb.
The former Boca Juniors starlet was linked with a move to West Ham in recent times, as well as Swansea City and AC Milan, and was even offered to the Hammers on a permanent deal before he signed for Sampdoria on loan during the winter transfer window.
Unable to make that move permanent, the Argentine defender has reportedly agreed to a four-year deal with fellow Serie A side Genoa, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
