West Ham have joined Southampton and Crystal Palace in the race to sign Lille midfielder Idrissa Gueye, according to the Daily Mail.
The report claims that the Hammers have enquired about the £7m-rated man as they look to bolster their squad ahead of their Europa League campaign.
Alex Song has left the club following his loan spell from Barcelona, leaving a hole in the heart of our midfield.
The 25-year-old Senegalese defensive midfielder would be a like-for-like replacement for Song in the side, but one would hope he would provide more consistent performances.
A huge factor to consider in any deal is Gueye has a couple of international team-mates at West Ham already in Cheikhou Kouyate and Diafra Sakho, who could persuade the Lille man to favour a move to East London.
