The West Ham board are harbouring hopes that they can lure striker Carlos Tevez back to the club in time for their move to the Olympic Stadium for the 2016/17 season, say the Daily Mail.
Tevez is seen as a club legend after his heroics during his one and only season at Upton Park, where he helped guide West Ham to Premier League survival in the 2006/07 season.
The 31-year-old forward is currently enjoying a successful spell in Serie A with Juventus, where he’s scored 21 in 24 appearances this season, and has also earned a recall to the Argentina national team.
Bringing Tevez back for the twilight of his career will be no small feat, but the tireless striker has always held the club in high regard.
“I care very much about all the West Ham people and I always miss them. I’m very, very thankful for everything, I’m No 1 West Ham fan for ever, because of the way they welcomed me, the love they showed me and everything, it was my first time in Europe and they made me who I am today. I will always be very thankful to West Ham fans and I’ll be West Ham’s No 1 fan.”

I think I speak for all West Ham fans when I say we’d jump at the chance to bring Tevez back, even if it is for just one or two seasons at the back end of his career.
His engine and high work rate is everything we look for in a striker, not to mention his clinical nature in front of goal, and he could be the man to fire us into European contention.
