West Ham are looking to add more steel to their midfield, and are keeping tabs on free agent midfielder Lassana Diarra, who is closing in on a move to Inter Milan.
Tuttomercatoweb claim that West Ham, as well as Bundesliga side Hamburg, are monitoring the Frenchman’s move, in case it were to fall through during the latter stages.
The former Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid midfielder was released by Lokomotiv Moscow in August 2014 for not showing up to training sessions.
QPR and Celtic both made approaches for the 29-year-old in recent times, but moves never materialised, paving the way for him to move to Italy with Inter Milan.
West Ham were expected to complete the signings of Darren Fletcher from Manchester United this week, but the deal has hit a stumbling block, but Sam Allardyce insists a deal is ‘not dead yet’.
