Nuno Espírito Santo has sent a pointed warning to his squad ahead of the crucial Championship clash against Lincoln City on Wednesday night.
“We need to start building momentum” was the mantra emanating from the press conference on Tuesday.
The tenth game of the long Championship campaign could be a pivotal one for the Hammers on the back of some mixed form.
Despite the two recent draws, a win would send West Ham back into third place in the table and block out some noise.
If points are dropped at Sincil Bank, doubts and fears will increase, as would criticism of the manager.

West Ham must start better – Nuno
Nuno Espírito Santo is keen for the Hammers to arrest the pattern of recent games which has seen them concede the first goal in the last three games across all competitions.
They need to turn that corner if they are to go on a prolonged run at the top of the table.
“We have to fix it, urgently,” said the Portuguese coach.
“We have to start the games better. I don’t want to keep repeating myself – ‘slow start, better second half’.
“I want to come to you guys one day and say ‘good first half, good second half’.”
West Ham expected to win at Lincoln
West Ham are favourites in this Championship clash against newly promoted Lincoln City.
The Imps have lost their last two games and will out to claim a scalp on Wednesday night.
That can’t be allowed to happen, from a Hammers’ perspective.
Nuno has detailed the inside track on West Ham changes in recent games, and a lift was confirmed on Tuesday with the news of Tomas Soucek signing a new contract.
The QPR disappointment must be parked, with the focus on securing third place in the table and pushing on.
Kick-off at Sincil Bank is at 8pm with the game live on Sky Sports.
