West Ham defender Ria Bose made her Sunderland debut on Sunday, coming off the bench in their 3-1 victory over Leicester City.
Bose entered in the 89th minute at Eppleton Colliery Football Ground as Sunderland secured a fourth win from their opening five Women’s Super League 2 matches.
West Ham’s official loan report confirmed her appearance, with Sunderland sitting second after their latest victory.
Katie Kitchen opened the scoring before Asmita Ale equalised. Second-half goals from Elsie Hughes and Sanni Franssi then settled the contest.
Bose begins next stage after England World Cup campaign
The appearance follows Bose’s involvement with England at the Under-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
We covered her selection for the tournament in August. She subsequently played 85 minutes in England’s last-16 defeat by Nigeria before joining up with Sunderland.
Sunday brought only a brief introduction, so it is too early to assess her role in the side. Earning longer appearances is the next step to watch during her loan.
Elsewhere, fellow West Ham loanee Halle Houssein remained an unused substitute in Sheffield United’s 2-1 defeat by Ipswich Town.
Katie O’Hanlon and Selin Cemal both completed 90 minutes for Aberdeen, who lost 1-0 to Motherwell after conceding in second-half stoppage time.
