Arsenal youngster Max Dowman scored the only goal after 70 minutes at St George’s Park.
The official England match report confirms Hooper was named among the substitutes but did not enter the game.
The West Ham goalkeeper will have another opportunity when England face Norway in Marbella on Tuesday 29 September.
Further fixtures against the United States and Belgium follow during the international window.
Two West Ham Academy Players in Action on Saturday
Attention now turns to Martin Peychev and Josh Briggs.
West Ham’s official Academy international schedule confirms both have fixtures on Saturday 26 September.
Martin Peychev – Bulgaria U19
Peychev’s Bulgaria U19 side face Hungary at 3pm BST in the Stevan Ćele Vilotić Memorial Tournament in Serbia.
Bulgaria began the competition with a 1-1 draw against hosts Serbia on Thursday.
The 17-year-old West Ham midfielder has represented Bulgaria across several youth levels and is using the tournament as preparation for November’s European Championship qualifying fixtures.
His involvement against Hungary will be added once confirmed.
Josh Briggs – Northern Ireland U21
Josh Briggs could also feature when Northern Ireland U21s travel to Malta.
Kick-off is scheduled for 6pm BST in Ta’ Qali.
The official West Ham call-up announcement confirms Briggs has already made three appearances during Northern Ireland’s current European Championship qualifying campaign.
UEFA also lists Malta vs Northern Ireland as Saturday’s Group F qualifier.
Briggs has made six appearances for West Ham U21s this season and helped the side keep four clean sheets before linking up with his country.
A normal appearance will be added to this tracker.
A goal, assist, injury or other significant development would potentially warrant separate coverage.
England U20 Trio Face France Next
Divine Mukasa and Airidas Golambeckis started England U20s’ 3-1 victory over Italy on Friday.
Ezra Mayers remained an unused substitute.
England’s official match report confirms Golambeckis was unfortunate to divert the ball into his own net after Italy had fallen 2-0 behind.
England nevertheless responded with a third goal through Shea Lacey to secure a comfortable opening victory.
The Young Lions face France on Tuesday 29 September at 10.30am BST.

Austbø Completes 90 Minutes for Norway
Edvin Austbø played the full match as Norway U21s drew 0-0 away to the Netherlands.
The winger started on the left side of Norway’s attack and completed 90 minutes.
His next international fixture comes against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday 29 September.
Norway then face Israel on 6 October, only three days before West Ham return to Championship action.
