West Ham United are set to remain without Pablo Felipe for Saturday’s Championship trip to Watford, while Tomáš Souček is still working his way back from the ankle injury suffered at the World Cup.
Pablo missed last weekend’s 2-1 defeat to Charlton Athletic after suffering a calf problem, with West Ham’s official team news confirming Joël Piroe replaced the injured forward.
West Ham team news before Watford
The Brazilian’s absence has opened the door for Piroe, who scored on his Championship debut against Charlton before featuring again in Tuesday’s 4-1 Carabao Cup win at Southampton.
That gives Nuno Espírito Santo another attacking option alongside Valentín Castellanos ahead of Saturday’s 3pm kick-off at Vicarage Road.
West Ham also continue to wait on Souček.
The midfielder suffered an ankle injury during Czechia’s final group-stage match at the 2026 World Cup and has yet to feature competitively for the Hammers this season. West Ham’s official player profile confirms the injury was sustained against Mexico.
Nuno nevertheless has several players pushing for places after the Southampton victory.
Lewis Orford produced two assists in midfield, while Joshua Ajala scored twice on his first senior start.
Our predicted West Ham XI against Watford has Orford pushing for a Championship start after his impressive cup performance.
West Ham will be searching for their first league victory of the campaign after drawing at Burnley and losing to Charlton.
Watford also have availability problems of their own, with manager Alessio Dionisi admitting his squad remains short of defensive options before the Hammers arrive.
We covered the Watford squad problem facing Dionisi earlier this week.
