Galatasaray make checks on £18m West Ham forward after fresh transfer twist

Galatasaray are reportedly checking on Pablo Felipe as fresh uncertainty emerges around the West Ham United forward’s future.

Rumours from Turkey claim the Turkish champions are assessing the Brazilian, although there is no suggestion yet that an offer or formal talks have taken place.

Pablo only arrived at the London Stadium from Gil Vicente in January. West Ham paid around £18.3million up front for the forward, with further add-ons included in the deal.

His first few months in England proved difficult, however, with the 22-year-old failing to score during West Ham’s relegation run-in.

Pablo Felipe West Ham future takes fresh turn

The latest development is particularly interesting because Pablo had appeared increasingly likely to remain part of Nuno Espírito Santo’s squad.

ReadWestHam reported just five days ago that West Ham expected Pablo to stay, with Nuno even considering using him in a deeper attacking position.

That picture could change if Galatasaray turn their early interest into something more substantial.

West Ham Central now reports that rumours from Turkey suggest Galatasaray are checking on Pablo. At this stage, the update should be treated as early interest rather than an indication that a transfer is close.

West Ham’s own activity in the striker market makes his situation even more intriguing.

Nuno remains keen to add another centre-forward before the window closes. Troy Parrott remains among the leading options, while several other forwards have been considered during the summer.

Pablo therefore faces an important few weeks.

West Ham appeared ready to give him another opportunity in the Championship, but serious interest from Galatasaray could force the club to reconsider that position.
