Dele Alli is reportedly training with West Ham as the former Tottenham midfielder attempts to revive his playing career.
The Dele Alli West Ham development has now been backed for success by Karl Robinson, who believes the 30-year-old still has the talent to make an impact if he earns an opportunity.
Alli has not played competitively since March 2025, when his long-awaited Como debut lasted less than 10 minutes before he was sent off.
That proved to be his only appearance for the Italian club, leaving the 37-cap England international searching for another route back into regular football.
talkSPORT reported on Friday morning that Alli is now training with Championship side West Ham, although there is currently no confirmation that the Hammers have offered him a contract.
Dele Alli West Ham opportunity backed by Karl Robinson
Robinson knows Alli particularly well after helping oversee his development at MK Dons.
The former Salford City manager recently encountered Alli while the midfielder was training in Marbella and believes West Ham will be well aware of the quality he once demonstrated regularly for Tottenham.
Robinson told talkSPORT that Alli remains a talented footballer but stressed that taking advantage of any opportunity now rests with the player himself.
For West Ham, there would be relatively little risk in assessing an experienced free agent before deciding whether he can contribute to Nuno Espírito Santo’s squad.
The Hammers enter their Championship campaign as strong promotion favourites. ReadWestHam’s latest Championship prediction has talkSPORT backing Nuno’s side to finish top, but further additions are still expected before the transfer window closes.
There is still a sizeable difference between training with West Ham and earning a contract.
But after such a long absence from competitive football, the reported Dele Alli West Ham opportunity gives the former England star another possible route back into the game.
