West Ham United Women will begin their Subway Players Cup campaign away to Tottenham Hotspur after the competition’s new league-phase fixtures were confirmed on Thursday.
The Hammers will play six matches between September and December under the revamped format, with three home fixtures and three away before the top eight teams advance to the knockout stage.
WSL Football confirmed the full draw on Thursday, with West Ham opening away to Tottenham at Brisbane Road on Wednesday 23 September at 7pm.
It gives Rita Guarino’s side an immediate London derby before a home meeting with Southampton one week later.
West Ham Women learn six Players Cup opponents
The competition was previously known as the Women’s League Cup, but it has been renamed and restructured for 2026/27.
A new Swiss-style league phase replaces the old group-stage format. Clubs have been split geographically, with each side guaranteed six matches before the top eight in the overall table qualify for the quarter-finals.
West Ham’s schedule is:
- Tottenham (A) – 23 September
- Southampton (H) – 30 September
- London City Lionesses (H) – 21 October
- Charlton Athletic (A) – 28 October
- Wolverhampton Wanderers (H) – 18 November
- Watford (A) – 16 December
The draw gives Guarino’s rebuilt squad another important block of competitive fixtures alongside the Women’s Super League.
West Ham have been particularly active in reshaping the group this summer. ReadWestHam previously covered the arrival of England youth midfielder Sienna Wareing, one of several additions designed to give Guarino greater depth across the season.
The Tottenham opener should provide an early indication of how quickly those new pieces have settled.
West Ham’s three home league-phase games will all be staged at the Chigwell Construction Stadium, while qualification would take them into the quarter-finals in January.
