West Ham are planning a Josh Landers loan move, with St Mirren and Livingston leading the interest in the 19-year-old striker.
The Hammers want Landers to continue his development through regular senior football.
Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph says several Scottish clubs are considering a move for the former Hibernian forward. St Mirren and Livingston are currently at the front of the queue, although no agreement has been reached.
West Ham plan Josh Landers loan move
Landers joined West Ham from Hibernian in January 2025 after impressing during a trial. He had made three senior appearances for the Scottish club before moving to east London.
The Scotland youth international signed a new contract last October. West Ham confirmed that the agreement runs until June 2028, underlining their intention to retain him beyond this summer.
Landers scored seven goals and provided one assist across 17 Premier League 2 appearances last season. He also gained further senior experience during a loan spell with Boreham Wood, although he scored only once in nine matches.
West Ham are not expected to include Landers regularly in Nuno Espírito Santo’s first-team squad this season. Another temporary move would provide a clearer route to consistent minutes.
ReadWestHam previously reported that Landers would receive an opportunity during pre-season, alongside fellow academy forward Daniel Cummings. The club have now assessed their young players and appear ready to approve another loan.
A return to Scotland would place Landers in a familiar environment and expose him to top-flight senior football. St Mirren and Livingston can both offer the competitive minutes West Ham believe he requires.
The clubs have not yet agreed terms for a Josh Landers loan move. West Ham’s preference is to sanction a temporary departure rather than consider a permanent sale.
