Mads Hermansen believes West Ham are heading in the right direction as Nuno Espírito Santo prepares his squad for the Championship campaign.
West Ham have completed three friendlies since returning for pre-season. They drew 1-1 with Southend United, defeated Stevenage 5-0 and then held Rangers at Ibrox.
Hermansen produced several important saves in Glasgow as Rangers created the clearer opportunities. West Ham’s official match report confirmed that the goalkeeper helped Nuno’s side preserve their first clean sheet of the summer.
“I think we’ve taken some really good steps during pre-season,” Hermansen told the club.

Hermansen warned that West Ham will need complete focus across all 46 league matches. Championship opponents will also view fixtures against the Hammers as major occasions.

Nuno still needs greater creativity and attacking speed before competitive football begins. However, the defensive organisation and improving squad mood provide a foundation.
