West Ham have been handed a possible opportunity to sign Fikayo Tomori as the defender waits for offers to leave AC Milan.
Coventry City, Hull City and Newcastle United all are showing interest in the 28-year-old, as he explores options back in the Premier League.
Sport Witness reports that Tomori is ready for a new challenge after more than five years in Italy. He is waiting for a suitable proposal from England or elsewhere, with finances and the sporting project likely to influence his decision.
Fikayo Tomori transfer could interest West Ham
Tomori has travelled to Britain for Milan’s pre-season match against Celtic. However, the former Chelsea defender has fallen down the defensive order following Mario Gila’s arrival from Lazio.
Milan officially completed Gila’s signing earlier in July, handing the Spain international a contract until 2031. Tomori is entering the final year of his own agreement and is reportedly free to leave under new head coach Ruben Amorim.
West Ham have been linked with several centre-backs as Nuno Espirito Santo reshapes his squad. Axel Disasi is unlikely to return after indicating that he does not want to play in the Championship, while Jean-Clair Todibo’s future also remains uncertain.
ReadWestHam recently included Tomori in a proposed West Ham starting XI following the club’s £150million transfer windfall. His recovery speed and ability in possession would allow Nuno’s side to defend higher during their promotion campaign.
Tomori has made more than 200 appearances for Milan and helped the club win Serie A in 2022. His previous experience with Chelsea, Brighton, Hull and Derby would also reduce concerns over adapting to English football.
Newcastle may offer the strongest competition if they formalise their interest. West Ham must decide whether an ambitious Fikayo Tomori transfer is financially realistic before another club makes its move.
