- West Ham are preparing for life in the Championship
- The Hammers are expecting a lot of change this summer
- Andy Carroll believes the Irons can bounce back to the Premier League
West Ham United are at a crossroads as they head into the Championship. The Hammers have to raise £150 million this summer and also need to get themselves back the Premier League at the first time of asking, something that does not go hand in hand.
Nuno Espirito Santo will stay with West Ham, being one of the only things not to change at the club this summer. Outside of confirming a manager, the Irons are going through significant changes in the recruitment department alongside within the boardroom.
The Hammers could sell up to nine players in this window, making building a promotion chasing squad all that harder. Despite the issues and challenges that lay ahead, one former West Ham frontman thinks the team have a chance to get back to where they belong.
Andy Carroll delivers his verdict on West Ham promotion chances
Speaking to Ian Abrahams, former West Ham striker Andy Carroll has been speaking about how sad he was to see the Hammers drop into the Championship, and to give his verdict on whether or not they can bounce back at the first time of asking.
“Yeah, I do. Hopefully as well. I’m actually devastated by what happened,” the former England international said.
“Watching the game was frustrating, and watching, obviously, the last few games as well. It’s been disappointing, but yeah, I do believe that they’ll come straight back up.”

The former strike also hopes that Jarrod Bowen remains at the club, despite links to a move back to the Premier League.
“Yeah, of course. You hope all the best players stay,” Carroll added. “You hope all the players stay, but it doesn’t work like that. We’re just going to have to see what happens, really.”
